My Favorite Pre-Workout Smoothie: Coconut Matcha

I recently did a poll on my Instagram where I asked if you guys wanted to see more healthy recipes on my blog, and the verdict was in – so here it goes! As you all know, I’m super passionate about fitness and I honestly spend an unhealthy amount of my day looking for healthy recipes that can complement my workout goals. I prefer not to take pre-workout supplements, and I like to go the naturally caffeinated way when it comes to maintaining my energy for workouts. I do try to incorporate whey protein into my post-workout meals as much as possible, so those recipes will be up soon as well!

This coconut matcha smoothie has all the right fats, carbs, and healthy caffeine sources that are necessary to get through a challenging workout.

What you’ll need:

1 cup of coconut milk, unsweetened (almond milk works too!)

2 tablespoons of plain greek yogurt, any brand

1/2 of a banana

1 teaspoon chia seeds

1 teaspoon organic matcha powder

Directions:

Blend all the ingredients, drink up, and go into your workout feeling strong and powerful.
