Are you a fellow blogger or influencer? If you are, then you NEED a media kit to showcase your talent to brands.
First, let’s talk about what media kits are. They’re essentially resumes built for bloggers to display their content, photos, audience statistics, and tell brands more about their blog. A media kit is a looking glass to your blog, and gives brands a “first look” into who you are and how your content would align with their goals. They usually also come with a rate sheet or a rate section, where you disclose how much you would charge for different types of posts (such as blog posts, Instagram posts, Instagram stories, Pinterest, etc). Usually, media kits are 1-3 pages long, and are sectioned off, like resumes. Here’s an example of a fun, two page media kit that contains all the metrics a brand would need to see before deciding to partner with you:
This media kit is a 2-page kit, containing an about me section, about the blog section, metrics along the middle of the page, and a rate sheet on the second page. The “Audience Statistics” section shows different metrics on your audience, such as where they’re located, what niches they are interested in, and what % male or female they are. This information is usually located in Instagram Insights (if you have a Business account) or on Google Analytics. I highly recommend using Google Analytics for your blog, so that you can see insights into your audience and effectively cater content to what they are gravitating towards!

Media kits can also have a section on brands you have worked with in the past (if applicable). You don’t need this, but if you are established and have worked with a few brands that you want to highlight, I recommend having it. This helps show other brands that you have experience (and it’s just like the job experience section of your work resume).
