What is it about styling Spring outfits that has me feeling so content? I feel like it’s so easy to put a look together that’s comfortable and chic at the same time. I have a few must-haves for Spring-wear that I’ve been loving the past couple weeks, and you NEED these for the next few months! The beauty of Spring is that it’s still cool enough outside so that you can wear cardigans, jackets, and cute booties, but hot enough to be able to wear shorts and rompers. Bring on all the florals, because yes, THEY ARE GROUNDBREAKING (IYKYK).
Here are some spring closet staples that you NEED in your life:
Trench coats are the most universal and versatile fashion statements you can make. I actually got my first trench coat this year after I saw how incredible it looked on everyone wearing it! I wore my coat throughout winter when it was less cold, and realized how great of a Spring staple it could be – on longer maxi dresses, jumpsuits, and work looks. The best part is, you can wear a trench with anything and still look classy and elegant, like you put a lot of thought into your outfit.
Styling tip: Grab a jumpsuit, some booties, and throw on a trench coat – effortless style in zero time. The trench coat I’m wearing is no longer on the Loft website, but a similar one is linked here!
Black/White Long-Sleeve Bodysuit
If you guys haven’t noticed, I wear bodysuits A LOT. I’ve honestly fallen in love with how easy it is to pair them with anything. You can wear them with skinny jeans, tie-waist pants (coming up below), shorts in the spring, the list goes on. This Spring, I want more colors in my wardrobe, so I’ll definitely be looking for pastel-toned bodysuits. If you’re just starting out, make sure you have a black and white – these neutrals will go with anything and everything, and are also incredible for slimming you down.
Styling tip: Put on a bodysuit with some super-skinny destroyed jeans and peep toe boots. Check out this cute bodysuit from Asos!
Tie-waist pants have been on-trend for a while now, but I hope they never leave. They look good on EVERYONE wearing them, and they make it so easy to look chic and sophisticated at the same time. Tie-waist pants are my go-to for work outfits, because they fall under the “business-casual” category, but look effortlessly stylish at the same time. Time to let go of those pant-suits, and style your tie-waist pants with some bodysuits.
Styling tip: Crop top + tie-waist pants + Converse = an effortless street style look that’s perfect for warm Spring days.
My obsession with scarves is actually unhealthy – I have a box full of them in my closet because I still haven’t figured out a way to organize them (if you have any tips, let me know). I have blanket scarves, infinity scarves, neck scarves, you name it. I know blanket scarves are solely reserved for winter, so I usually bring out my lighter, skinnier scarves for springtime.
Styling tip: Tie-waist pants, black bodysuit, black scarf, and pointed heels (my motto is dress well to make your day go well).
Baker Boy Hat
I got into hats last year when I realized that they add an element of completeness to any look, and they will definitely make you stand out. Baker boy hats are the most versatile hats to wear during spring, and they don’t even have to be all black (although it’s good to have those). I recently bought THIS hat from Forever21, and I can’t wait to style it with my new red overalls from Shein!
Styling tip: Bodysuit + plaid pants + black booties + baker boy hat = “I belong in Paris” vibes.
This one is very self-explanatory, but if you know me, you know I’m a fan of all things denim. I think denim on denim is my absolute favorite Spring/Summer staple. My oversized denim jacket will always be my favorite piece of clothing to grab whenever I’m in a hurry, but want to look “Pinterest-ready.” Even non-oversized denim jackets are PERFECT for adding to your maxi-dress look, on top of a romper, or with a crop top and leggings. There are millions of combinations you could make with denim jackets, and they are truly gifts sent to us from above.
Styling tip: Denim jacket + crop top cami + denim shorts/jeans + Converse = an everyday Spring look that anyone can pull off!
As you can tell, I’m SUPER excited for everything that Spring has to offer, and those warmer temps have me feeling inspired to keep creating content like this for those of you who read my blog and give me feedback (thank you!).
What are your spring staples? Let me know so I can run back to the mall or online shop till I go into credit card debt (kidding…. I hope).0
